ABOUT US / BACKSTORY
The Universal ICF System (formerly known as Premere Insulated Concrete Forms) was developed by Allan Meendering in the late 80s as a result of inferior products by other manufacturers in the ICF Industry. After working with these products, Allan “built a better mousetrap”. He developed the Premere Form System. His idea was to use recycled products to cut down on land fill waste and build a system that is more user and environmentally friendly than any other system on the market. Homeowners and Contractors have been using this system for the last 33 years. Premere Forms have been installed throughout the United States, Canada, Ireland, and England. Premere Forms was awarded the “Best New Product of the Year” in Ireland 2004.

Universal ICFs (Insulated Concrete Forms) are a viable alternative to conventional wood framing; giving builders and homeowners a variety of advantages never before possible. Simply put, concrete walls are formed with lightweight, extruded or expanded, polystyrene foam. Foam panels and rails are connected with cross ties which are stacked to form parallel walls. With rebar located inside, concrete is then poured into the cavity. The foam remains in place to provide insulation on both sides. This combination of concrete and foam insulation creates an ICF structure with increased energy efficiency, comfort, strength, and overall durability with R-values of R-22 to R-70 and higher.
